As mentioned in our History section, we worked closely with a family of five based in Glasgow to bring their idea to life. While there are many places in the city offering play experiences, such as play parks, indoor soft play, and trampoline parks, they found these environments unsuitable for their needs. Due to their high level of care requirements, it was impossible to take their children along and ensure the safety of both their family and others in these settings. These places were often overcrowded and overwhelming.
They attempted to participate in some 'ASN sessions' offered by other establishments but found them challenging. Many of these sessions were held at inconvenient hours, such as 7pm on a Wednesday or 9am on a Sunday, making it difficult for them to attend. Although these sessions were less crowded, it was still hard to ensure the boys' safety and allow them to play freely without risk to themselves or others. These outings often ended in distress, and sadly, the family found themselves staying home more than they’d like.
They needed a space that was exclusively theirs — a safe, secure environment where mum and dad could either join in the fun or relax, knowing their children were in a space with minimal risks. They wanted a place that combined the best elements of all the typical day-out locations, but one that also catered to the specific needs of their three children. A space that promotes independence, growth, freedom, and fun.
That’s exactly what we’ve created here at Bouncy Bees. We are a small, family-run business, passionate about providing a safe, inclusive environment for individuals of all ages and abilities. Our playroom has been carefully designed to include a wide variety of resources that offer sensory exploration opportunities.
Feedback from the local community has helped shape and grow Bouncy Bees into what it is today. We encourage parents and carers to share their thoughts with us so we can continue providing a service that meets the needs of individuals of all ages and abilities throughout the city.
